Research&Development

RESEARCH AREAS

During more than twenty years I was engaged in the projects related with geophysical data interpretation. Numerical methods were my work tools. Since 2000 I work in the area of data/text mining and my recent interests now include:
Algorithms of unsupervised learning (clustering)
Applications of inductive modeling in document handling
Opinion analysis in domain oriented documents
Formal stylometrics for genre identifications
Modeling social networks using physical analogies
Healthcare quality management based on text mining
Sociology of Internet: conceptualization of notions in Web
Jurisprudence: searching ways of corruption in legislation

DEVELOPMENTS

Creating end-user products is not the goal of my applied research. However working in research teams sometimes I have to develop programs for a joint use. I could mentioned here the following products:

Current software developments
Program ‘Opininer-UAB’, opinion mining of a document set.
Co-author: Angels Catena, UAB, Spain (spring 2012)
Program ‘ColloTerm’, revealing word combination in a document set.
Co-author: Roque Lopez, UNSA, Peru (winter 2012)

Recent software developments
Program ‘LexisTerm’, revealing terms from a document set.
Co-author: Roque Lopez, UNSA, Peru (2011)
Library of clustering algorithms, open self-documented codes on C++. First version

was developed at 2005 and it is modified now
